PROP 8 IN COURT MARCH 5

It's been confirmed that the California State Supreme Court will hear arguments on Prop 8 on March 5, with a ruling to follow within 90 days afterward.

The hearing will be held in San Francisco. While courts are supposed to be neutral, yadda, yadda, I think this can only be a good thing for our side.

Numerous civil rights and LGBT groups, as well as California State Attorney General Jerry Brown, have filed briefs in favor of overturning Prop 8. Meanwhile, Ken Starr (yes, that Ken Starr) and the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund have filed a brief arguing that not only should Prop 8 be upheld, but that all 18,000+ marriages conducted while gay marriage was legal in California should be invalidated.

In response, the people at Courage Campaign started a petition and made this video:

One can't help thinking that if ads like *this* had been running during election season, things might have turned out a little bit differently.

I'm sure there will be protests and other events leading up to and on March 5. Check Join the Impact for more info.
