Just a quick update between blog posts--it's now around 12:30 am here and we can hear shelling in the distance, probably from the gunboats in the sea. You might think it's thunder except you're in Gaza so you know it's not. It's the first time I've heard it, although people with homestays in different parts of the Strip have reported shelling, shooting or flyovers almost every night we've been here.
At breakfast this morning we heard that five camps were shelled last night. This is still a normal occurrence even though the "war" is supposedly over.
