Despite my extraordinarily busy schedule (writing a feature and a TV spec, short film that I wrote going into production, midterm and scholarship deadlines and sibling visit rapidly approaching), I WILL be in San Francisco on Thursday!

In a bit of unabashed product placement, I owe this decision entirely to Southwest Airlines.  After bemoaning the lack of direct bus and rail connections between downtown LA and SF and the slowness of such methods of transportation (10 hours, Amtrak? Really???), I checked Southwest's website and realized that I can fly from LAX to SFO and back on the same day for a very reasonable $139--only slightly more than most bus options and a fraction of the travel time.
