There are going to be numerous actions across California and the US in the coming days leading up to the hearing. The night of Wednesday, March 4 has been declared an "Eve of Justice" with protests and candlelight marches organized in at least 30 cities.
In Los Angeles, there will be a rally and march through downtown starting at 5:30pm on Wednesday. Angelenos can also watch a live broadcast of the hearings on Thursday morning from Los Angeles City Hall or from the West Hollywood Auditorium.
The main event, of course, will be in San Francisco, where the hearings are being held. The default convergence point is Civic Center Park, which borders both City Hall and the Supreme Court building. (Yes, the same place that Harvey Milk delivered his "Hope Speech" at Gay Pride 1978, back when it was called Gay Freedom Day.) I don't have a good sense of how many people will be gathering there, but my sense is...a lot.
In other Prop 8 news, the beautiful "Fidelity" video that you've all probably teared up over has now been viewed over one million times on the Courage Campaign website.
