never underestimate the power of a mom!

In today's last flurry of news about Prop 8, I have to say I found this tidbit particularly touching:
One rally that did surprise the country -- and the organizers -- was a quiet vigil against Prop 8 in Salt Lake City, Utah. More than 600 people showed up at Salt Lake City's Library Square heeding a call from three Mormon mothers of gay children.
While gay couples scrambled to get married before Election Day, the religious crazies held their Sunday super rally at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. While they had hoped to fill the 71,000 seat stadium, independent estimates suggested the crowd was only 10,000-15,000.

Meanwhile, the Republican mayor of San Diego was across town with his lesbian daughter Lisa at a No on 8 counter-rally at the San Diego LGBT Center.
