prop 8 protest roundup

I just returned from the march in Silverlake, which I guessed at 15,000-20,000 people, although the LA Times is reporting 12,500.

Like Wednesday, it was an incredibly diverse and spirited crowd. Also, apparently it is easy as shit to get a street closed in LA, because although the organizers supposedly didn't have a permit, we marched in the street and the cops were generally chill (although the horses did leave giant turd bombs to watch out for). At the end they started playing dance music from the sound truck and the whole thing, in true gay fashion, turned into a giant dance party.

Earlier today, up to 10,000 people marched in San Diego, while "thousands" took to the streets in San Francisco on Friday. There was even a march of 2,000 in Long Beach--where cops apparently felt the need to break this out (see guy on right side of photo).
